Tillamook County is a county in the state of Oregon in the United States . At the 2000 census , the county had 24,262 people and a population density of 7 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Tillamook .

The county has an area of ​​3,452 square kilometers, of which 597 square kilometers are water. Tillamook County is bordered by Clatsop County to the north, Lincoln County to the south, and Washington County and Yamhill County to the east .

The county had a population of 24,262 as of the 2000 census . There were 40,584 households and 6,793 families. The population density was 8 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 93.86% white, 0.22% African American, 1.19% Native American, 0.65% Asian, 0.21% residents from the Pacific island area and 1.89% from others ethnic groups; 1.98% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.13% of the population.

Of the 40,584 households, 24.60% had children and adolescents under the age of 18 living with them. 54.80% were married couples living together, 7.70% were single mothers. 33.40% were not families. 27.90% were single households and 12.60% had someone living there who was 65 years of age or over. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.82 people.

For the entire county, the population was composed of 22.20% of residents under 18 years of age, 6.50% between 18 and 24 years of age, 23.50% between 25 and 44 years of age, 28.00% between 45 and 64 years of age 19.80% were 65 years of age or over.
