Douglas County is a county in the US state of Oregon . In 2000 100,399 people lived here, in 2005 it was 104,292. The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Roseburg .

In Lookingglass is the historically relevant James Wimer Octagonal Barn . The octagonal barn is located at number 1191 on Coos Bay Wagon Road. Built in 1892, the barn was listed on December 2, 1985 by the National Register of Historic Places as a Historic Monument with the number 85003039.

The county had a population of 100,399 people as of the 2000 census . There were 39,821 households and 28,233 families. The population density was 8 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 93.86% white, 0.18% African American, 1.52% Native American, 0.63% Asian, 0.09% Pacific island residents and 1.02% others ethnic groups; 2.70% were from two or more races. 3.27% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 39,821 households, 29.10% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 57.20% were married couples living together, 9.60% were single mothers. 29.10% were not families. 23.90% are single households and 11.00% have someone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.9 people.

For the entire county, the population was composed of 24.00% residents under 18 years of age, 7.50% between 18 and 24 years of age, 24.20% between 25 and 44 years of age, 26.40% between 45 and 64 years of age 17.80% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 96.80 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 94.20 males.
