Jackson County is a county in the state of Oregon in the United States . 181,269 people live here. The county seat is Medford . It was named after President Andrew Jackson .

As of the 2000 census , the county had a population of 181,269 people. There were 71,532 households and 48,427 families. The population density was 25 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 91.65% white, 0.40% African American, 1.09% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.18% residents from the Pacific island area and 2.88% from others ethnic groups; 2.91% from two or more races.
