Hood River County is a county in the US state of Oregon in the United States . The county seat is Hood River . Near the town of Hood River flows Hood River in the Columbia .

The county had a population of 20,411 as of the 2000 census . There were 7,248 households and 5,175 families. The population density was 15 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 78.87% white, 0.57% African American, 1.12% Native American, 1.47% Asian, 0.12% residents from the Pacific island area and 15.37% from others ethnic groups; 2.46% from two or more races.
