The Netherlands took 81 athletes to the 2008 Summer Paralympics in China's Beijing in part.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wheelchair tennis player Esther Vergeer , the most successful athlete was the swimmer Mirjam de Koning-Peper with two gold and two silver medals.
