Summer Days (And Summer Nights !!) is an album by the US music group The Beach Boys . It was released on July 5, 1965. The album was produced by Brian Wilson .

Emergence

While the Beach Boys went on tour, Brian Wilson worked on new songs. Wilson hired studio musicians from Los Angeles who were part of the so-called The Wrecking Crew - with whom Phil Spector also recorded - and recorded the newly composed pieces in the studio. After the tour, the band members only had to record the vocals.

In contrast to its predecessor The Beach Boys Today! , especially the second side of this album, Summer Days (And Summer Nights !!) is a classic Beach Boys album, mainly due to the commercial expectations of Columbia Records .

After a legal dispute, several names had to be changed in 1996. Mike Love sued successfully and a large part of his name is now in the songwriting names. Only the instrumental Summer Means New Love and I'm Bugged at My Ol 'Man are excluded.

success

During the Summer Days period , the Beach Boys were nearing their career peak. With Help Me, Rhonda the album contains the second number one hit by the Beach Boys. The album reached number 2 on the US Billboard charts and number 4 on the UK charts.
