The Spor Toto Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi 2002/03 was the second season of the fourth-highest Turkish division in professional men's football. It began on September 8, 2002 with the 1st match day and ended on May 11, 2003 with the 30th and final match day.
Competition mode
In the 2002/03 season which was TFF 3. Lig as in the previous season played as a five-track league. The total number of teams was reduced from 91 to 76. These 76 teams played in five groups with 15 and 16 teams each for promotion to the 2nd league and against relegation to the amateur league. All of the first placed went straight to the second league , while the teams in the last three places in the table of all groups were relegated to the regional amateur league.
Composition of participants
Beginning of the season the ten losers from were the remaining from the previous season 61 teams TFF 2. Lig Vanspor , Agrispor , Artvin Hopaspor , Boluspor , Konya Mobellaspor , Sapancaspor , Ispartaspor , Yeni Turgutluspor , Zeytinburnuspor , Kirklarelispor the five newcomers Yozgatspor , Murgul Bakırspor , AB Kızılcahamam Belediyespor , Denizli Belediyespor , Kestelspor have been added. The newcomers had been accepted as champions from the then regional amateur leagues and were allowed to take part in the TFF 3rd Lig.
Season course
Osmaniyespor ( Group 1 ), Yeni Kırşehirspor ( Group 2 ), Aksarayspor ( Group 3 ), Yalovaspor ( Group 4 ), Çorluspor ( Group 5 ) achieved the championship of the 3rd Lig in their groups and thus the direct promotion to the 2nd Lig . Relegated were end of the season Batman Karşıyakaspor , Vanspor , Agrispor ( Group 1 ), Murgul Bakırspor , Rize Çaykurspor , Carsambaspor ( Group 2 ), Düzcespor , Kayseri Elektrikspor , Konya Mobellaspor ( Group 3 ), Tavşancılspor , Bergama Belediyespor , Dalaman Kağıtspor ( Group 4 ) and Izmitspor , Edirnespor , Kırklarelispor ( Group 5 ).
Special occurrences
- At the start of the season, the Konya Ladikspor club changed its name to Yeni Konya Ereğlispor . This led to a financial reorganization of the Konya Ereğlispor association and its successor.
- In Group 4 it was announced that Tavşancılspor would not take part in the TFF 3rd Lig competition in the following season . So the table fourteenth Yeni Turgutluspor remained despite relegation in the league.
