Your little child is coming is the 835th episode of the crime series Tatort and was first broadcast on April 9, 2012. The film is the second part of the first two-part series in the series. The first part of Kinderland was broadcast the day before (Easter Sunday). The chief inspectors Max Ballauf and Freddy Schenk have just solved a case when they received the news that the fingerprint of the missing 15-year-old Anna Römer was found in the trunk of a car in a Cologne junkyard. Anna Römer comes from Leipzig and disappeared in Cologne, which is why the Cologne investigators contact their Leipzig colleagues Chief Inspector Eva Saalfeld and Chief Inspector Andreas Keppler: The body of 15-year-old Sarah Stellwag was found in the Rhine just a few weeks ago. She too came from Leipzig. Ballauf and Schenk have the location of the corpse checked again. There are three other bodies of young girls in the Rhine: In addition to Evelyn Nöthen and Nadine Krenz, who like Sarah Stellwag lived on the street and went to work, the body of Vanessa Röpke can also be identified. She lived in orderly circumstances and, unlike the other victims, came from Frankfurt am Main . She disappeared three years ago. At that time, the Cologne investigators suspected her father of murdering her daughter. Thomas Röpke had to be in custody, lost the shares in his advertising agency, which his partner Stefan Graz now runs, and his wife, who divorced him. The investigators now realize that they had wrongly suspected Thomas.

Investigators are trying to spot a pattern in the murders. The victims were always lavishly made up and coiffed before they were murdered, so that around ten days passed between the kidnapping and the murder. In the case of two young women, it can still be established that they were first raped and later strangled. Various circumstances, such as the armoring of a corpse with a crankshaft , make a perpetrator from the area around the junkyard seem possible where the car was found. The only possible perpetrator would be David Schmelzer, who had a criminal record for sex offenses and who has been working in the junkyard for a year. After a questioning by the investigators, Schmelzer receives a visit from photographer Peter Bransky, who has Anna in his power. It turns out that Bransky and Schmelzer are working together. But when Schmelzer wants to get out and go to Berlin, Bransky kills him.

A factory surveillance video shows Anna getting into a car with a stranger. The car is the one that the investigators found in the junkyard. The investigators want to question Schmelzer again, but only find him dead. You can back up his external hard drive and find, among other things, videos of the rape of the girls in a set-like setting and the taping of their murder after the rape. You can see Schmelzer. Saalfeld recognizes that in one case the video camera was moved during the recording, which suggests a second perpetrator. It seems likely that the perpetrator is to be found in the photographer or make-up artist area, as the victims were professionally “staged”. Saalfeld and Keppler travel to Cologne to support Ballauf and Schenk. Ballauf reacts skeptically, believing that Schenk and Saalfeld are having a secret affair, which is always a reason for teasing among colleagues.

When the Röpke couple were questioned, the four investigators found out that Vanessa wanted to become a model and had test shots made for this purpose shortly before her death. They were commissioned by Röpke's then partner Stefan Graz, one in Cologne and one in Frankfurt. Graz also has a photo studio in Halle near Leipzig, but turns out to be unsuspicious when observed - he likes men. Saalfeld goes to Petra Röpke, the mother of the murdered Vanessa. She takes a look at Vanessa's diary and also finds test shots from the Bransky studio. She notifies Schenk that she is following a lead and goes to Peter Bransky's studio. When she shows him the photos, he knocks her down and takes her to the basement, where he also keeps Anna prisoner. She is already made up and dressed for the murder. Ballauf, Schenk and Keppler meanwhile search Graz 'files from the two photo sessions for people who took part in both photos. There are five names of which Schmelzer's psychologist can confirm one that is also on his records: Peter Bransky. The investigators have Bransky's house surrounded. Meanwhile, in the basement, Saalfeld has woken up and is tied to a heater to try to prevent Bransky from murdering Anna. She provokes him until he finally threatens her with her service weapon and wants to shoot her. The investigators meanwhile order access and Schenk shoots Bransky a few seconds later. Saalfeld takes care of Anna, who is now on the brink of collapse.

A little later, Schenk and Saalfeld talk about the personal burden of having to shoot someone while on duty. The fact that checking the service weapon is just a formality doesn't make it any easier for the conscience. Saalfeld gives Schenk two friendship kisses, which is an occasion for teasing again for Ballauf and Keppler.
