The area Teufelssee is with Regulation of 21 December 1973 of the Regional Council Tübingen been instructed Nature Reserve (NSG number 4067) near the town Wangen in the district of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg .

location

The only 0.985  hectare nature reserve Teufelssee is part of the Westallgäu hill country . It is located about seven kilometers southwest of downtown Wangen on the Schomburg district between the hamlets of Pflegelberg and Friedhag and the Primisweiler district at an altitude of 550  m above sea level. NN .

The nature reserve Hangquellmoor Bachholz is 500 meters north of the Teufelssee .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the silted-up lake lying in a dead ice hole , which today is covered by a complex of different flat moor and intermediate moor communities with floristic rarities.
