The Bibersee area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.042) designated by ordinance of April 15, 1969 by the Regional Council of South Württemberg-Hohenzollern in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community of Fronreute in the Ravensburg district in Germany .
location
The approximately five hectare nature reserve around the eponymous Bibersee is part of the Upper Swabian hill country . It belongs to the Blitzenreuter Lake District , lies west of the Blitzenreute district and east of the Fronhofen district at an altitude of 574 m above sea level. NHN .
Flora and fauna

Among the flora worthy of protection are the following plant species :
- Rush cutting ( Cladium mariscus ), also called Schneidried , a swamp plant from the sour grass family
- Yellow pond rose ( Nuphar lutea ), a species of the water lily family
- Common pond rush ( Schoenoplectus lacustris ), also from the sour grass family
- Ostrich loosestrife ( Lysimachia thyrsiflora ), a representative of the primrose family that grows up to 60 cm high
- White water lily ( Nymphaea alba ), also from the water lily family
fauna
In 1990 included eel , perch , bream , white bream , pike , carp , roach , rudd , tench and catfish to fish in the beaver lake, 2000, bleak and zander .
The fauna worth protecting include the following species:
- Small garnet eye ( Erythromma viridulum ), a member of the slender dragonfly family
- Pointed spot ( Libellula fulva ), a species from the family of the sailing dragonflies
- Western wedge damsel ( Gomphus pulchellus ), a species of dragonfly from the river damsel family
