The Scheibensee area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.041) in the southeast of the municipality of Waldburg in the Ravensburg district in Baden-Württemberg , Germany, designated by ordinance of August 2, 1967 of the Tübingen regional council .
Location and description
The 5.64 hectare large nature reserve Schei Bensee part of the natural area Upper Swabian hills . It is located about 1.3 kilometers southeast of the center of Waldburg at an altitude of about 663 m above sea level. NN and essentially comprises the Scheibensee , created in a former dead ice hole . The lake with a diameter of about 30 meters lies in a hollow on the outer edge of a moraine that formed at the end of the Würm glacial period around 10,000 years ago . Today it is surrounded by flat and intermediate bogs with swinging lawns . The area is drained by the Edensbach and Haslach in the Untere Argen . The north-eastern part of the reserve borders the Blauensee nature reserve .
