The Dornacher Ried area with Häckler Ried, Häckler Weiher and Buchsee is a nature reserve designated by ordinance of June 4, 1937 (NSG number 4.001) in the Baden-Württemberg municipalities of Fronreute and Wolpertswende in the Ravensburg district in Germany . It is the oldest nature reserve in what is now the administrative district of Tübingen .
location
The approximately 151 hectares - of which 125 hectares Fronreute and about 26 hectares belonging Wolpertswende - large, two-part nature reserve Dornach Ried with Häckler Ried, Häckler pond and Buchsee is in the natural area Upper Swabian hills . It extends east and west of Bundesstraße 32 , around 1.5 kilometers north of Blitzenreute and three kilometers southwest of Wolpertswende at an altitude of 580 to 584 m above sea level. NN .
Protection purpose
The Dornacher Ried is an almost untouched mountain pine - high moor with the Blindsee . The Häckler Ried consists of flat and transition moor and surrounds the Häckler Weiher with a black-headed gull colony . The Buchsee with its extensive stocks of water lilies is separated from the Häckler Ried by a road.
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the glacial lakes located between moraine ranges, some of which are moored and silted up.
