The Hangquellmoor Epplings area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.066) designated by the ordinance of December 21, 1973 of the Tübingen regional council in the area of the city of Wangen im Allgäu in the district of Ravensburg , Baden-Württemberg in Germany .
location
The 1.37 hectare (ha) large nature reserve Hangquellmoor Epplings belongs naturally to the Westallgäu hill country . It is located about 2.7 kilometers southeast of downtown Wangen, between the hamlets of Epplings and Giesen, on the northern slope of the Upper Argen , at an altitude of 570 m above sea level. NN . This area is referred to as Deuchelried on the land maps .
Here, on the south-western slope of a moraine from the Würm Ice Age , the water is dammed up from a fairly large catchment area and emerges over a layer of clay at various points. Due to the high lime content of the water, tuff formation occurs at these springs .

- Summer screwwort or summer screwflower ( Spiranthes aestivalis ), a member of the orchid family
