action

Quan Ngoc Minh, a Hoa Chinese, has lived in London , where he has run a restaurant, since he fled Vietnam when his wife and two of his three daughters were killed by pirates . When his daughter Fan dies in a bomb attack committed by an organization called the "Core IRA", his world collapses. The police are unable to trace those responsible for the attack. In response to Quan's constant inquiries, he is advised to be patient.

When he sees an interview on television with the politician Liam Hennessy, who was a former member of the IRA himself, he tries to find out from him who is responsible for the attack. Since Hennessy cannot help him by phone, Quan sets off to Belfast to visit Hennessy personally. After he has him thrown out of his office, Quan detonates a bomb in the toilet facility of the office building and installs a not yet activated car bomb in Hennessy's car to threaten him.

Meanwhile, Hennessy knows about the people behind the attack, but does not approve of the fact that people died. With the help of his nephew Sean, he works with the British police to track down the attackers. At the same time, he lets his people look for Quan, who can find him in a bed and breakfast but cannot overwhelm him. The politician then retreats to his country estate, where Quan follows him and sets fire to the horse stable to continue to exert pressure.

Meanwhile, Hennessy receives information from the British police that Quan was a feared Viet Cong fighter during the Vietnam War . Then he puts Sean, who served in the British Army , on Quan, who is hiding in the woods around the country estate.

When the police inform Hennessy that they have identified Hugh McGrath, who is temporarily at Hennessy's property, as the mastermind behind the attacks, he shoots McGrath before the police can arrest him. Before that he learned the names of the assassins from him, which he told Sean.

Quan, who overwhelms Sean, learns from him the names of the assassins who are still in London, where they are preparing another attack. Although the terrorists are under surveillance by the police, Quan manages to break into the apartment and kill the attackers. Only Maggie survives and tells the arriving police under torture the next planned assassination target before she is killed by the police. The next stop is a scheduled flight from London to Rome, which is used by numerous British politicians, including the British Prime Minister, to travel to a conference in Rome. Due to a flight delay, the police succeed in thwarting the attack at the airport at the last second; only limited property damage occurs.

In the end, Quan breaks into Hennessy's London apartment and forces him to post a photo on the internet of him kissing his lover Maggie - one of the terrorists.
