Don Anthony "Tony" Boselli, Jr. (born April 17, 1972 in Modesto , California ) is a radio sports commentator and former American football player. He played from 1995 to 2002 in the National Football League (NFL) on the offensive tackle position for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans .

College career

Boselli played for the University of Southern California (USC) during his college years . During this time he was voted All-American three times and won the Cotton Bowl Classic with his team in 1995. In the same season he was voted Most Valuable Player of his team and got the Morris Trophy as the best offensive line player in the Pacific-10 Conference awarded.

NFL career

Boselli was selected in the 1995 NFL Draft as the second player by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was the first player in the history of the Jaguars to be drafted. After suffering a serious shoulder injury in 2001 and only being able to play three games that season, the Jaguars released him for the Expansion Draft so that he was selected by the Houston Texans. He has shares in several companies and, together with his wife, runs his Boselli Foundation, which is committed to looking after and supporting schoolchildren. He is currently working as an NFL commentator for the radio station Westwood One of the CBS group and a sports program on morning radio by ESPN . It was reported in the press that he will run for the 2011 mayor of Jacksonville . Since the end of his football career, Boselli has lost weight and now competes in triathlons .
