history

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1306 in connection with payments for the altars of St. Gotthard and Vitus at Prague Castle . During the Hussite Wars , the Prague population conquered the village belonging to the Vyšehrad Chapter and sold it to Duchek Kadaně of Větrušice in 1429.

In 1559 Václav Služský von Chlum bought the village, followed by his son Jan. After the battle of the White Mountain , his goods were confiscated and initially sold to Wenceslaus Matthias Borowsky. At the instigation of King Ferdinand II , the chapter got its old property back. The village, which consisted of one estate, seven farms and three cottages, was deserted by the Thirty Years War .

From 1850 Větrušice was part of Klecany in the Karlín district. In 1853 the place consisted of 22 houses. The estate was leased in 1885 to the sugar factory director Jan Zapotil, who expanded it to become the first and largest seed breeding company for sugar beet with a high sugar content in Bohemia.

In 1888 Větrušice broke away from Klecany and formed its own political municipality. From 1928 the municipality Větrušice belonged to the Praha-venkov district, from 1946 to Okres Praha-sever and since 1961 to Okres Praha-východ. In March 1945 there was an aerial battle in the airspace east of the village in connection with the American air raids on the Brabag factory in Schwarzheide . In 1957, during excavation work for a new cowshed, remains of vessels and human bones were found, the age of which is estimated to be 3000 years.
