It belongs to the Arrondissement of Calais and the canton of Marck (until 2015: canton of Audruicq ). The inhabitants are called Vétiéglisois .

Vieille-Église is about 15 kilometers east-southeast of Calais . Vieille-Église is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Oye-Plage in the north, Saint-Omer-Capelle in the east, Audruicq in the south and Nouvelle-Église in the west.
