Jeong Woo-yeong , known in the German-speaking world as Woo-Yeong Jeong ( Korean 정우영 , born September 20, 1999 in Ulsan , Gyeongsangnam-do Province ), is a South Korean soccer player . The winger has been under contract with SC Freiburg since July 2019 and is a multiple South Korean junior international.

Jeong was born in Ulsan in the southeastern part of South Korea . In 2015 he came to Incheon United FC and played there regularly in the K League Junior , the junior league of the professional clubs of South Korea. In 2017 he was able to show his best performance with 7 goals in the first half of the season. In January 2018, he moved to Bayern Munich , where he worked for the rest of the season 2017/18 for the U19 in the A-Junior Bundesliga and the UEFA Youth League was used. Jeong received a contract with the German record champions until June 30, 2022.

For the 2018/19 season of the Regionalliga Bayern he was promoted to the amateur team of Munich and at the end of the season rose to the 3rd division with the team from the fourth-rate Regionalliga Bayern . Jeong scored 13 goals this season.

In the game of the second main round of the DFB Cup against SV Rödinghausen (2-1) he was in the squad of the professional team for the first time, but was not used. His competitive debut followed on November 27, 2018 under coach Niko Kovač in the penultimate group game of the UEFA Champions League in a 5-1 win against Benfica Lisbon , when he came on for Thomas Müller in the 81st minute . In the Bundesliga he came on March 2, 2019 in a 5-1 away win against Borussia Mönchengladbach with a substitute for Thomas Müller in the 86th minute for another short appearance.

For the season 2019/20 Jeong moved to SC Freiburg . In the first half of the season he was not used in the Bundesliga under Christian Streich , but played 6 times in the second team in the Regionalliga Südwest , scoring 2 goals. In January, Jeong missed winter preparation due to his participation in the 2020 U23 Asian Cup . After the tournament, he did not return to SC Freiburg, but until the end of the season on loan to FC Bayern Munich, where he was part of the squad of the second team. He came up to the end of the season on 15 missions (ten times from the start), in which he scored one goal and prepared the most hits. Jeong became champions of the 3rd division with the team and left Munich again for the 2020/21 season.
