World 14.1 Tournament 2013

The World 14.1 Tournament 2013 was a pool tournament in discipline 14 and 1 endless , which took place from August 19 to 24, 2013 in the Astoria borough of New York and was hosted by Dragon Promotion .

The German Thorsten Hohmann won the tournament with a 200: 164 victory in the final against the Englishman Darren Appleton . After 2006 and 2011 , Hohmann won the tournament for the third time.

Defending champion John Schmidt was eliminated in the semi-finals against Hohmann.

Prize money

A total of $ 54,000 in prize money was distributed at the tournament . The winner received $ 13,000 of this.

mode

Group stage

The 64 participating players were divided into eight groups of eight players each. Each player played once against each player in his group. Whoever reached 100 points first, won the game. The four best placed in each group then advanced to the next round.

Knockout phase

The 32 players remaining after the group stage then competed against each other in a double knockout system . The game length has been increased from 100 to 150. The then remaining 16 players finally played against each other with a goal of 200 points in the knockout system .
