Zborov (Hungarian Zboró ) is a municipality in northeastern Slovakia . It is located in the valley of the Kamenec brook, at the foot of the Busov Mountains and Ondavská vrchovina , 9 km from Bardejov and 10 km from the Polish border.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1335, the Zborov Castle (also called Makovica ) was mentioned as Makouicha in 1347 . By 1840 almost half of the population was of Jewish denomination.
