history

The place was first named Kurima al. n. Dubynna mentioned in writing. An indirect mention dates back to the year 1270. In the High Middle Ages, Kurima was the seat of a manor which, in addition to the seat, included nine other villages. At the beginning of the 15th century the manor merged with that of Makovica Castle . Thereafter, Kurima was a small town and received market rights in 1415. In 1427 a tax of 107 Porta was due. In 1600 there were two saws and a mill here, the residents were employed in cattle breeding, beekeeping, weaving and various crafts such as shoemaking and pottery.

Important representatives of the landed aristocracy in the village came from the families Szirmay and Erdődy . In 1828 there are 161 houses and 1,390 inhabitants. Shortly afterwards the village fell into disrepair and there were several waves of emigration. In 1914 Kurima burned out completely.
