Abrahámovce (until the 19th century Slovak also "Abramovce"; Hungarian Ábrahámfalva - until 1907 Ábrahámfalu ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 341 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Bardejov , a Prešovský kraj district , and is part of the traditional Šariš landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the Lower Beskids in the headwaters of the Koprivnička brook in the Topa catchment area . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 266 m nm and is 22 kilometers from Bardejov .
Neighboring municipalities are Tročany in the north, Kochanovce in the northeast, Buclovany in the east and Raslavice in the south and west.
history
The place arose at the beginning of the 14th century next to an older castle and was first mentioned in writing in 1427 as Abranfalua . In the same year there were 23 porta in the village and it was part of the Raslavice domain. Owners in the 17th and 18th centuries came from the Segney , Raszlaviczky and Vay families . In 1787 the village had 27 houses and 186 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 49 houses and 381 inhabitants, whose main source of income was agriculture.
The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Abrahámovce had 365 inhabitants, including 339 Slovaks and one Czech . 25 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
168 residents committed to the Evangelical Church AB, 165 residents to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. Three residents were non-denominational and the denomination of 25 residents was not determined.
