Hažlín (Hungarian Hazslin ) is a municipality and a town in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 1,097 (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Bardejov ( Prešovský kraj ).
geography
The place is located in the Ondavská vrchovina (part of the Low Beskids ) on several streams that leave the place as Hažlínka . To the north-west of the village lies the “local mountain” Kačalová ( 677 m nm ). Hažlín is 13 kilometers from Bardejov .
history
Hažlín is mentioned in writing for the first time in a document dated April 12, 1414 as Henslengh and was part of the Makovica estate . But indirect mentions already existed in the 13th and 14th centuries.
