==Early life and education==
Condie was born in [[Preston, Idaho|Preston]], [[Idaho]]. His family lived there until he was fifteen when they moved to [[Pocatello, Idaho]]. From 1960 to 1963, Condie was a [[Missionary (LDS Church)|LDS Church missionary]] in the South [[Germany|German]] [[Mission (LDS Church)|Mission]]. While there, he met Dorothea Speth, a native of Germany also serving as a missionary. They became reaquainted after their missions, a situation that was advised by Blythe Gardner, Condie's mission president. Condie and Speth were married in June 1964.

Condie received a [[B.A.]] from BYU, an [[M.A.]] from the [[University of Utah]], and a [[Ph.D.]] from the [[University of Pittsburgh]]. He worked as a professor of both [[sociology]] and ancient scripture at BYU from 1969 to 1984 and again from 1987 to 1989.

Nickelodeon Movies is the motion picture production arm of children's cable channel Nickelodeon, originally founded in 1996. Its first film was Harriet the Spy. It has produced films based on Nickelodeon programs, as well as other adaptations and original projects. Its films are released by fellow Viacom division Paramount Pictures.

On August 21, 2006, Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films became full labels of the Paramount Motion Pictures Group.[1]
