The 2018/19 season was the third season of the Alps Hockey League , the joint Italian - Austrian - Slovenian ice hockey league . The championship of the Alps Hockey League was won by HK Olimpija Ljubljana , who defeated HC Pustertaler Wölfe 4: 3 in the playoff final. Previously, HC Pustertal had won the main round with more than 100 points and a goal difference of +97.

Attendees

Hockey Milano Rossoblu was newly admitted to the AlpsHL as one of last season's participants . However, HC Neumarkt withdrew from match operations at the end of May 2018.

mode

The 17 teams play 40 games each in a main round. A single round (32 games) followed by a further single round in four regional groups (six or eight games) is played. In the three groups of four East, South A and South B, each team plays two more games against an opponent drawn from another group.

The best four teams qualify directly for the quarter-finals of the play-offs . The teams in positions five to twelve play four more quarter-finalists in best-of-three mode. The semi-finals will take place in the best-of-five mode , the quarter-finals and final in the best-of-seven mode.

Austria

The encounters between the seven Austrian teams in the first single round also count towards the Austrian championship of the Alps Hockey League (second division). The four best teams will qualify for the Final Four at the end of January.
