On the 80th birthday of Pope Benedict XVI. The Federal Republic of Germany made - for the first time since reunification - an exception to the rule that, with the exception of the head of state, no living personalities are depicted on postage stamps, and in April 2007 issued a special stamp with his image and coat of arms.
