Venues of the district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1934/35 (blue = master / yellow = relegated) |
The district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1934/35 was the second season of the second-class district class Magdeburg-Anhalt, which has been functioning as a substructure for the Gauliga Mitte since 1933 . The renowned SV Dessau 05 prevailed as champions , who then also mastered the promotion games to the Gauliga in a relatively sovereign manner. The game was played again in a round-robin tournament mode with back and forth legs. The Stendaler 09 Viktoria and the Saxonia 07 from Tangermünde completed the league podium with stable performances throughout the season. In the end, both VfB 1906 Schönebeck and SC 1900 Magdeburg had to switch to district class II (MD), both of which proved to be insufficiently competitive, although in the case of the Elb-Saline townspeople there was an extremely close millimeter decision against Germania Halberstadt, who saved themselves by a hair's breadth due to the more advantageous goal quotient over the relegation line. Both of the more ambitious traditional Magdeburg clubs ended up in rather sobering midfield positions when they were relegated from the Gauliga. The return of SV 1911 Hötensleben to the Lower Saxony area and the promotion of FuCC Cricket-Viktoria to the Gauliga, was compensated by the simultaneous double relegation of Fortuna & Magdeburg Prussia from the higher class, so that the league has the game year this season again, as initially decided, could contest with twelve clubs.
The subsequent round of promotion was dominated by the later, two-time district champion FC Preußen 02 Burg , who lifted the Harz district champion FC Askania 1900 Aschersleben in tow into the district class for the new season.
