Borovoe ( Russian Боровое , German Bekarten , Melonkeim and tube mill ) is the common name formerly independent places Russian Kaliningrad Oblast (region Königsberg (Prussia) ). They are located in the Bagrationovsk district ( Prussian Eylau district ) and belong to the Gwardeiskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) ).

Geographical location

Today's Borowoje on the river Beisleide (Russian: Reswaja) is located in the extreme south-east of Bagrationovsk Rajon and borders in the east on the border with Pravdinsk Rajon ( Friedland District ( Eastern Pr.) ). In the south, the Russian-Polish border runs between the Kaliningrad Oblast and the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The district capital Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau ) is in the west and can be reached on a side road via Bolschoje Osjornoje (Klein Sausgarten) . A railway connection exists via Bagrationowsk, the end point of the railway line from Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , a section of the former East Prussian Southern Railway .

Borowoje / Bekarten (until 1945)

The district once known as Bekarten is located 5.5 kilometers east of Bagrationowsk, directly on a side road that connects the Rajons capital with Jagodnoje (Kapsitten) and Domnowo (Domtau) . Between 1874 and 1945, the rural community was in the District Loschen (Russian: no longer Lawrowo existent) incorporated and belonged to the district Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910, 82 inhabitants lived in Bekarten, whose number rose to 133 by 1933 due to the incorporation of Rohrmühle (also in Russian today: Borowoje) and was 129 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Bekarten came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and in 1946 was given the Russian name “ Borowoje ”.

Borowoje / Melonkeim (until 1945)

The place formerly called Melonkeim is 4.5 kilometers east of Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) and was a manor village until 1945. It belonged as Bekarten 1874-1945 for District Loschen in district Preußisch Eylau in Administrative district Königsberg the province of East Prussia . In 1910 39 residents were registered here.

On September 30, 1928, Melonkeim gave up its independence and was incorporated into the municipality of Klein Sausgarten (Bolschoje Osjornoje) with the neighboring village of Auklappen (now in Russian: Maloje Osjornoje) . In 1945 the place came to the Soviet Union and has been called "Borowoje" since 1946.

Borowoje / Rohrmühle (until 1945)

The village formerly called Rohrmühle is 4.5 kilometers from Bagrationowsk (Prussian Eylau) and owned an estate and a water mill . Also tube mill was incorporated in the District Loschen and so belonged to the district Preußisch Eylau in the administrative district of Konigsberg in East Prussia . In 1910 42 people lived here. On September 30, 1928 Rohrmühle was incorporated into Bekarten (today in Russian: Borowoje) and in 1945, like all places in northern East Prussia, was incorporated into the Soviet Union . Since 1946 the place has been called "Borowoje".

Borowoye (from 1946)

In 1946 the villages were Bekarten , Melonkeim and tube mill under the Russian name "Borovoe" in the Soviet Union combined. The so-called place was incorporated into the Nadeschdinski soviet (Dorfsovjet Nadeschdino (Lampasch) ) until 2009 . Since then, due to structural and administrative reform, it has been qualified as a settlement (Russian: possjolok) within the Gwardeiskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Gwardeiskoje (Mühlhausen) ) in the Bagrationovsk district .

Before 1945 the population of Bekarten, Melonkeim and Rohrmühle was almost without exception Protestant denominations. The villages were parish in the parish Schmoditten (today Russian: Rjabinowka) and belonged to the church district Preussisch Eylau (Bagrationowsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Max Kuehnert .

Since 1946

Today's Borowoje is located in the catchment area of ​​the nine kilometers northeast of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Domnowo (Domtau) , which was newly established in the 1990s . This is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and is part of the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
