Wildenstein Castle is the ruin of a spur castle in Wildenstein , a district of the city of Dietfurt an der Altmühl in the Bavarian district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .
It is the eponymous seat of the von Wildenstein family . Its destruction began in the Peasants' War and ended in the Second Margrave War . A house below the castle ruins served as the seat of bailiffs for a long time.
