history

According to the history of the Neumarkt school welfare office, Baron von Löwenthal suspects the ancestral seat of the Schweppermann family to be located in the castle , with arguments relating to the history of the language for the similarity of the place and family name and the observation that the Schwepper men’s coat of arms in the Kastl monastery is cited with the heading Weppermann is shown. There is also the claim that a Schweppermann was born here. However, it was pointed out that no evidence could be found that the Schweppermen were ever wealthy here.

Varia

The name Schweppermannsburg was the reason for the naming of a local shooting club "Schweppermann" in Wappersdorf.
