The Lützelburg castle stable is the remainder of a former, presumably high medieval aristocratic castle near the Unterwiesenacker district of the town of Velburg in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in Bavaria .
The castle stable is freely accessible.
Geographical location
The Outbound Spur castle was located in the 591-meter summit of the mountain of the same name, about two kilometers northeast of the village under Wiesacker and 13 kilometers east of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate.
There are other castles and ruins nearby: to the south are the Velburg castle ruins , the ruins of the Helfenburg , the ruins of the Adelburg and the Plankenstein castle stables, to the west the Schanzberg castle stables and the old church at Unterwiesenacker, and to the north the Habsberg castle stalls , on which there is a pilgrimage church , and the Schweppermannsburg on the Dietrichstein, as well as northeast of the Burgstall Thürsnacht near the village of the same name.
History of the castle
Nothing more is known about Lützelburg Castle. The name could go back to Adalbert II. Lutzmann, who descended from the Prunn-Laber gentlemen. He probably also founded Lutzmannstein Castle, eight kilometers southeast of the Hohenfels Training Area.
