The Reiselsberg ring wall is located in the area of the Lauterhofen market in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate of Bavaria . The facility is located approx. 1700 m southwest of Lauterhofen on the Reiselsberg.

description

The Reiselsberg has a narrow plateau, the east side of which breaks off with vertical walls. Here is a section wall made of stones moderately covered with earth, it protects a 50 × 25 m area at the summit to the west. On the southern edge of the plateau, it continues about 20 m to the east as a narrow wall. On the north edge a short wall tongue jumps outwards; maybe there was a tower or a kennel here. At the north end there is a breakthrough that probably marks a gate. 45 m to the west, a low outer wall crosses the plateau in front of the narrowest and deepest point of the ridge. Its south end bends inward and east and then tapers to an edge. In front of the north end of the wall, 3 m are free up to the slope.
