CSI Neumünster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CSI Neumünster (full name: CSI *** / CDI-W Neumünster , named VR Classics after the main sponsor ) is an international show jumping and dressage tournament that has been held in the Holstenhallen in Neumünster since 1951, always in February . In 2020 the 70th edition of the tournament was held.

history

In 1951 the tournament was organized for the first time by the Neumünster manufacturers Richard Brüggen and Hermann Marsian. They financed the tournament without additional sponsors. Brüggen took over the tournament management until 1968 and the tournament developed into one of the largest German show jumping tournaments with international participation. The jumping competitions have been advertised internationally since 1983, and from the following year there will also be international dressage competitions at CSI / CDI-W Neumünster. From 1969 to 2008 August Christian Horn was the sole responsible tournament director. Since 2009 this task has been taken over by Ullrich Kasselmann and the winner of the Neumünster Grand Prix in 1972, Paul Schockemöhle . The main sponsor is the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken.

winner

The main competitions of the tournament are the show jumping Grand Prix and the Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle, which has been a World Cup qualification since 1987 .

The Show Jumping Grand Prix was part of the Riders Tour for the first time in 2020 and was also its final evaluation test.
