Codajás , officially Portuguese Município de Codajás , is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Amazonas . As of July 1, 2019, the population was estimated at 28,637 inhabitants, called Codajasenses ( codajasenses ) and living in a large municipal area of ​​around 18,701 km², roughly comparable in size to the Free State of Saxony. The economic factor is the açaí palm ( Euterpe oleracea ).

The city is located 297 km from the state capital ( Manaus ). Neighboring communities are Coari , Caapiranga , Barcelos , Maraã , Anamã and Anori . It is located on the Rio Solimões , to the west and northwest are the river islands Ilha de Codajás and Ilha dos Corós .
