Boa Vista do Nhamundá , officially Município de Nhamundá , is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Amazonas in the mesoregion Centro Amazonense (Central Amazonia) in the microregion Parintins . It is located on an island in the lake district of the lower Amazon basin. Neighboring cities are in southern Parintins , in the West Urucará , in the north Caroebe , east Oriximina , Faro and Terra Santa . In 2019, an estimated 21,173 people lived in Nhamundá.

The city is situated 375 km as the crow flies from the capital of the state ( Manaus ) away on an island in the Amazon -See Lago Abuí .

Folk festival
The annual fishermen's festival is well-known, when a fishing competition for the Tucunaré fish is held. It is the largest fishing festival of its kind in the state of Amazonas.
