Boa Vista do Ramos , officially Município de Boa Vista do Ramos , is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Amazonas in the mesoregion Centro Amazonense (Central Amazonia) in the microregion Parintins . Neighboring cities are Barreirinha , Maués , Itacoatiara and Urucurituba .
history
The history of Boa Vista do Ramos is linked to the history of the municipality of Maués.
In 1798 the forest village of Aldeia de Lusea was founded in the area of Maués . In the middle of the 19th century there were several conflicts between whites and indigenous peoples in the region .
When the Amazonas province was created in 1850, Lusea became one of the 14 parishes in the province. Its name was changed to Maués in 1982. In 1895 the municipality became the seat of the district. On December 10, 1981, the municipality Boa Vista do Ramos was formed from parts of Maués and the neighboring municipalities of Barreirinha and Urucurituba by the 12th Amendment.
