Corbara ( Corsican A Curbaghja ) is a French commune with 907 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Calvi and the Canton of L'Île-Rousse .

geography

The municipality of Corbara extends from the north-west coast of Corsica to about three kilometers deep into the island's hinterland and is 10.19 km² in size. The village of Corbara is located on a 255 m high hill, the district of Marine de Davia directly on the sea. Another district is Acqua Niella in the northeast. The coastal section in the municipality is quite flat in the north ( Baie de Giunchetu ), in the west with the prominent capes Punta di Vallitone and Punta di Varcale, mostly rocky. The highest point in the municipality is the Cima di Sant 'Angelo at 561 m above sea level. The municipality borders L'Île-Rousse in the northeast, Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna in the east and Pigna and Aregno in the south .

The coastal road RN 197 is one of the main routes on the island and runs from Calvi to Ponte Leccia through the municipality.

The CFC trains on the Tramway de Balagne stop at the Gare de Bodri stop , which is the municipality's train station.
