Lumio ( Corsican Lumiu ) is a French commune with 1180 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Calvi and the canton of Calvi and is a member of the Communauté de communes de Calvi Balagne of the Balagne region .
geography
The municipality in the Balagne borders in the north and in the northwest on the Mediterranean Sea . The neighboring communities are:
- Algajola in the northeast,
- Aregno and Lavatoggio in the east,
- Montegrosso in the southeast and south,
- Calvi in the southwest and west.
The railway line, which runs from Calvi to the northeast along the coast, has a stop in the hamlet of Sant'Ambroggio . The concessionaire for the railway line is the company Chemins de fer de la Corse .
