  • Country legend George Jones made a successful comeback in 1999. After the release of his album Cold Hard Truth , a momentous incident occurred on March 6th. The 67-year-old singer was seriously injured when his car hit a bridge while under the influence of alcohol.
  • Eddy Arnold , one of the most successful country musicians of all time, announced his final resignation from show business in May
  • Johnny Rodriguez is acquitted by a Texas jury. He had accidentally shot a friend in his house whom he thought was a burglar.
