The 22nd GDR tour took place from August 31 to September 6, 1974 . It led over 887 km with seven stages . The 6th and 7th stages were declared as Harz tours. Hans-Joachim Hartnick was able to win this tour for the first time .

Attendees

74 drivers from five countries took part in the 22nd tour. In addition to the drivers from the GDR, teams from Belgium , the ČSSR , the Netherlands and Sweden each started .

Scoring jerseys

In this tour four were classification jerseys awarded: the yellow jersey of the overall best, the blue of the best team , the Violet of the most active rider and the white of the best young rider of the GDR.
