Norbert Domnik (born July 30, 1964 in Klagenfurt ) is a former Austrian triathlete and Olympian (2004).

Career

Norbert Domnik trained at the Carinthian Army Performance Center. Between 1994 and 2002 he was national champion in the short distance triathlon five times.

In June 2004 he became the military world triathlon champion in France in the M40 class. In August he started for Austria at the Olympic Games in Athens, where he finished 37th.
After the 2004 Olympic Games, he supported the sport of triathlon in Carinthia and, with the support of the Province of Carinthia, opened the state center for triathlon.

From 2005 to 2012 he worked for the Army Sports and Performance Center as an instructor / trainer in the Army Sports Science Service. In 2007 he qualified for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships). Until August 2011 he trained the Austrian triathlete Lisa Perterer . Domnik has not appeared internationally since 2012.

Since 2013 he has been training the young athlete Alina Hambrusch and the handicap athlete Christian Troger .
