Unalaska is a city on the Aleutian -Insel Unalaska Iceland in the US state of Alaska . The port area is located on the neighboring island of Amaknak and is called the Dutch Harbor . Dutch Harbor is within the metropolitan area of ​​Unalaska and is connected to the city by the nearly 200 meter long South Channel Bridge .

The Russian fur trade reached Unalaska when Stepan Glotov landed with his crew on August 1, 1759.

The city of Unalaska was named after the island of the same name. Dutch Harbor (dt. Dutch Harbor ) was named by the Russians so because they believed that a Dutch vessel was the first European ship that would reach the port.
