history

The diocese of Częstochowa was on October 28, 1925 by Pope Pius XI. canonically established with the Apostolic Constitution Vixdum Poloniae Unitas as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Krakow . In the course of the restructuring and restructuring of the Catholic Church in Poland , Pope John Paul II raised the diocese to the rank of Metropolitan Archdiocese on March 25, 1992 with the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae Populus .
