Eschenrod is a district of Schotten in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse .

geography

The place is on the edge of the Vogelsberg, southeast of the main town on the Eichelbach . On the eastern edge of the town runs the federal road 276 , through the town the state road 3183.

history

The oldest known written mention of Eschenrod took place in 1187 under the name Asechenrode . The place name ends in -rod and thus explains itself as clearing . The town's founder was called Asicho . This gave rise to the name Asichorode , from which the current place name was later formed. There were six mills in the village. The last one was shut down in 1972.

The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Eschenrod in 1830:

"Eschenrode (L. Bez. Schotten) evangel. Parish village; lies at the foot of the Vogelsberg, 2 St. von Schotten, has 111 houses and 534 inhabitants, who are Protestant apart from 2 Catholics, 4 grinding mills and 3 oil mills. 91 of the inhabitants belong to the farmer and 48 to the business class. - The place had a chapel in the 14th century, which belonged to Herchenhain. On June 3, 1826, a downpour fell nearby, completely destroying 4 residential buildings and economic buildings, damaging 42 others, stealing the lives of 21 people and tearing ravines 30 feet deep. "

On December 1, 1970 Eschenrod was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city of Scots integrated .

Courts since 1803

In the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt , the judicial system was reorganized in an executive order of December 9, 1803. The “Hofgericht Gießen” was set up as a court of second instance for the province of Upper Hesse . The jurisdiction of the first instance was carried out by the offices or landlords and thus the Lißberg office was responsible for Eschenrod. The court court was the second instance court for normal civil disputes, and the first instance for civil family law cases and criminal cases. The second instance for the patrimonial courts were the civil law firms. The superior court of appeal in Darmstadt was superordinate .

With the founding of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806, this function was retained, while the tasks of the first instance 1821–1822 were transferred to the newly created regional and city courts as part of the separation of jurisdiction and administration. Eschenrod a lot in the judicial district of the " Landgericht Schotten ".

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act with effect from October 1, 1879, as a result of which the previous grand-ducal Hessian regional courts were replaced by local courts at the same location, while the newly created regional courts now functioned as higher courts, the name was changed to "Amtsgericht Schotten" and the district was allocated of the regional court of Giessen .

With effect from July 1, 1968, the local court of Schotten was dissolved and Eschenrod came to the jurisdiction of the local court of Nidda . On January 1, 2012, the district court of Nidda was also dissolved in accordance with the resolution of the Hessian state parliament and Eschenrod was assigned to the district court of Büdingen . The superordinate instances are now, the regional court Gießen , the higher regional court Frankfurt am Main and the federal court as last instance.
