With the founding of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806, this function was retained, while the tasks of the first instance 1821–1822 were transferred to the newly created regional and city courts as part of the separation of jurisdiction and administration. Götzener Linde natural monument
The Götzener Linde stands as a single tree on a meadow outside the village, on the Tiefenweg near the eastern edge of the village. As a natural monument designated and in the prominent list and old tree specimens registered Sommerlinde shows an imposing, pyramidal structured and very spreading crown. Even at a small height, mighty main branches branch off horizontally from the tree and form a broad umbrella. From the continuing, strong central trunk, further, horizontal wreaths of branches branch off in several stages, which give the linden tree its splendid appearance. The upper part of the trunk is cracked and partially hollow. It is stabilized there by inserted metal bars. The girth of the tree, measured at chest height, is 6.15 m. It reaches a height of approx. 20 m. The age of the tree veteran is given as 250-300 years.
