Esther Kuhn

Esther Maria Charlotte Kuhn (born June 2, 1980 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian actress .

Career

Esther Kuhn grew up in Germany, Austria and Italy. She spent her kindergarten years in Bonn on the Rhine. She mainly attended school in Tyrol.

Esther Kuhn first appeared on stage when she was five years old, where she played in Cesar Bresgen's “The Prodigal Son”. During her high school in Innsbruck she stood in front of the film camera for Der Bergdoktor for the first time.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Paris and shortly afterwards enrolled at the University of Vienna for theater and film studies as well as journalism and communication studies. She graduated three years later with distinction and shortened her studies and began to study drama at the Munich University of Music and Theater , August Everding Theater Academy . During her studies she was engaged at the Munich Volkstheater and the Bavarian State Theater.

After completing his acting studies, Kuhn took up a permanent position at the Regensburg City Theater . She played u. a. Gabriel Baryllis "Honigmond", Kleist's "Penthesilea", the Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz . She shot at the side of Gisela Schneeberger , Peter Simonischek and Gerhard Polt . In 2009 she went to New York to work with Susan Batson .

In 2010 Kuhn returned to Europe, played the leading role in Theo van Gogh's The Interview at the Stadttheater Fürth and shot a. a. the film Kasimir and Karoline , a literary adaptation that received numerous awards, especially for acting. This was followed by theater engagements at the Metropoltheater (Munich) , at the Landesbühne Rheinland-Pfalz, at the Prinzregententheater Munich as well as television engagements for the series Tatort , Um Himmels Willen , Die Rosenheim-Cops , Familie Dr. Kleist , Dahoam is Dahoam u. a.

In 2015, she spent some time in Los Angeles to work with Ivana Chubbuck . In 2016 she came to the cinemas alongside Heiner Lauterbach, Uwe Ochsenknecht and Elyas M'Barek in Simon Verhoeven's comedy Welcome to the Hartmanns as Clarissa.

Esther Kuhn played Mirandolina at the comedy in the Bayrischer Hof in Munich on the side of Mariella Ahrens and Hinterm Horizont, then on the left side of Horst Janson . In 2019 she worked for the first time with student Oscar winner Alex Schaad . She also stood in front of the camera for Simon Verhoeven again in 2019 . In his new film Nightlife , she played the role of Bernadette Kempe alongside Nicholas Ofczarek .

In 2020 Esther Kuhn received the Grimme Prize for The Love Europe Project , an episode film by producer Gabriela Sperl .

Kuhn also works as a model . She ran her first runway fashion show at the age of 14. Since then she has had over 200 appearances, including for Gerry Weber, Marc O'Polo, Oui Fashion and Lola Paltinger .

Esther Kuhn lives with her family in Munich.
