Fay is a French municipality with 668 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . Fay is located in the Arrondissement of Le Mans and belongs to the canton of Le Mans-7 (until 2015: Canton Allonnes ). The inhabitants are called fayards .
geography
Fay is about nine kilometers west of Le Mans city center . Fay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaufour-Notre-Dame in the north and west, Trangé in the northeast, Pruillé-le-Chétif in the east, Étival-lès-le-Mans in the south and Souligné-Flacé in the southwest.
The A11 autoroute runs along the south-eastern edge of the municipality .
