The 1971 edition of the annual Five Nations rugby union tournament ( Six Nations since 2000 ) took place on eight match days between January 16 and March 27. The tournament winner was Wales , which made it to the Grand Slam for the sixth time with victories against all participants , and the Triple Crown with victories against all British teams .
