Fussels Corner is a census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County in the US state of Florida with 5561 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Fussels Corner borders directly on the city of Auburndale to the east and is about 20 km north of Bartow and about 50 km east of Tampa . The CDP is crossed by US Highway 92 ( SR 600 ) and Florida State Road 570 ( Polk Parkway , toll).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5561 inhabitants were distributed among 3032 households. The population density was 303.9 inh / km². 87.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 4.2% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 0.4% as Asian Americans . 5.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 10.1% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 18.3% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 55.3% of all households. 69.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.27 people and the average family size was 2.61 people.

16.9% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 16.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 20.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 46.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 57 years. 49.2% of the population were male and 50.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 37,541, with 10.9% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 89.75% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 10.25%.
