Jan Phyl Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in Polk County in the US state of Florida with 5573 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Jan Phyl Village borders the city of Winter Haven in the east and is about 10 km north of Bartow and about 60 km east of Tampa . The CDP is affected by Florida State Road 540 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5573 inhabitants were distributed over 1896 households. The population density was 456.8 inh / km². 72.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 18.5% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 5.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.7% to several ethnic groups. 16.2% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 41.2% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 24.9% of all households. 77.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.98 people and the average family size was 3.29 people.

30.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 16.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 36 years. 48.7% of the population were male and 51.3% were female.

The median annual income was $ 45,083, with 12.9% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 93.39% of the population, 5.14% spoke Spanish and 1.47% spoke Vietnamese .
